Red Star Christmas Table Runner

Here is another of the many table runners that I made for the benefit boutique on Dec 9. This is one of those times when it's best not to follow the pattern instructions! Don't know what this author was thinking! If you look closely, you'll see that the variable star squares were made first, then the surround was added. You add it by cutting a whole load of half square triangles. You know the ones that you have to cut on the bias? Well, dear friend Sherry suggests the next time I make it to use whole squares and sew it in strips that will form a diagonal; then trim off the excess - no working with biases! Duh!!!
