Desert Willow Blossoms

If you don't study this too hard, you might think that it's an iris or orchid or some other exotic bloom. It's really the flower from our desert willow tree. In the late spring, the trees are full of these beautiful little flowers. They are usually this dark pink and don't last very long. The edges are ruffled just like an iris and is its perfect miniature.
