Our Challenge in Art4Mail was to create a fabric doll from a pattern that everyone would use. Here is a tutorial on how I made my doll. I hope it helps anyone who might be in the doll making business. She is hardly an art doll, but the concept for making art dolls is the same as making any dolly. Whether it's for display or for a little one to love, sewing them is a lot of fun and often addictive.
If you scroll down further into this blog, you will see a newspaper article and photo that tells about helping children in Angola. Some of those children are holding dolls I made. I cannot describe how I felt when I saw that photo.
At any rate, dolls are people too, so give them a life and have fun along the way!
By the way, I see that the camera reset itself to when we purchased it! Pay no attention to the date - I did not even know what fabric postcards were in 2003, but had many a doll sewn by then!
